So saying that the river has been dredged again this year does that mean that there wil be another report in 2 years? They dont even mention the waste that is being washed out at trow rocks, if you ask me its just scare mongering by the the papers yet again.

the river thrived when it was heavily industrial (with fish ) the same as the durham an northumberland beaches . all the ****e in the ground at trow an souter both offshore an onshore has been there for years , so in my opinion it is scare mongering ...... to put it how it should be said WHAT A LOAD OF ****E ........!

Just read the report, quite frightening.

Cant understand why they want to clean up the river then go and pollute the sea.

            But thats DEFRA for you.
If people think you are an idiot, why speak and remove all doubt !

I mentioned this on NESA back in 2005.............seen the dredger plying to & from the Tyne many times......it went a few miles off Whitburn and returned many, many times....the operation went on for a few weeks.
Had a suspicion that it was dumping old "river waste" and mentioned it to a couple of the "boaty" lads.
