Ian you asked the question " bet Terry has a great time with this one"
What can i say other than, once the rules and times have been set then you can only change them before the event starts or let everyone know the change of rule well in advance and only if every competitor agrees.
If i am going to fish a 5hr match then as most others would do i would have enough bait and some extra.
If in the last hour i had plenty of bait left then i usually increase the rate in which i use up my remaining bait, usually in the last 30 mins bigger baits hoping for the one lunker that would make the difference which would simply mean if i were put in the same position as you lot were, i would have no bait left to fish.
Dont know whos idea it was but it sounds like someone thought they could increase their own chances by moving the goal posts at last minute.
I cannot see how this was allowed to happen, you are all supposed to be men not kids, surely one of you if not all who finished at 7pm could have done something.
If i had took part in that particular sham i honestly would have refused to accept anything i may have won and made a stand and shown the organisers how disgusted i was at the decision they made without telling the whole field and i would also have expected all those with any decency in them to follow suit.
Now Ian that is what i would have done and in no way am suggesting thats what you should have done, you won by fishing to the original times i hope and if the rest of your team finished at 7pm also then you won the match fair and square, if you fished on then i would say you were wrong to do so.
Please dont take offence Ian.If people think you are an idiot, why speak and remove all doubt !

Totally agree with everything wat you have said Terry, got no reason to feel offended.(I know wat car you drive)ha ha.We (the Captains)had a meeting, in relation to what had gone on,making our point to the Host Club.(South Yorks)This resulted in the vote of Captains for a Yes or No,as to wether the result should stand.I was aware that my team were in the running for the Comp, but the results had not been worked out.(its some mathamatical method which i still cant get me head round)
I made the hosts and the other capts aware that I was not happy with the Comp regardless of the result, along with two of the Northumbria Teams,But I had to inform them, that should it go to the vote, then I had been instructed by my team members to vote for the result to stand, even though I personally did not agree, because they did not want to be put through it all again, down at Sandsend.
The vote was in favour of the result standing,Positions were then calculated, resulting in my Team winning.Yes I went up for the Trophy, but if it wasnt me or my team lifting it,then someone else would have.
