I would go for a Century, I've got two, an old Century long ezee sport (which has seen better days) but non the less still a good rod, and a Reelsport Response, which is a cracking piece of kit.

phil what would you say if you paid £300 for a rod on somebodies recommendation and found it was not to your liking and the other one turned out to be. Find someone with one or a shop that will let you test one, you should be able to tell pritty soon if it is suitable for you.Alan

JOHNF: I have an Anyfish Rock rod and I like it. I cannot compare it to all the other rods that get mentioned as it has replaced my old Conoflex Scorpion Match for heavy ground work and unfortunately I cannot tell you what it is like to haul a big fish in on it yet. It casts well with big leads and big baits on and is steady in the wind whilst show good bite detection (small rockling no problem).A bad days fishing is better than a good day at work.

Cheers Fozally. I'm thinking about changing my Century Fireblade Sport. Had it for years & its been top-class, the Anyfish rod looks good, but I'm tempted to stay with Century, decisions, decisions!Tides & Sea State For North Shields
