can't believe this has not caused more debate on here, the threat is real. the key point raised here is not the argument of translocation of species and disease (those points are open to debate and interpretation) but the point that it is wrong to put a hook into a sentient animal ie any live vertibrate to use as bait. this is a very worrying development. if it is made illegal to put a hook into a live fish to use as bait on cruelty grounds how long before it is deemed cruel to use hooks full stop !
