  • what autumn,winter rod?

    alreet all.
As im fairly new to autumn winter beach fishin in the ne.
and theres so many rods on the market, ive jus got a few questions if anyone could help me out id be gratefull lol!!!
im gonna be fishin mainly cleanish to mixed beaches but with a big surf stormy etc does this mean il still need a rougth ground rod to handle the big surf weed, wind etc.
even thougth im not fishin heavy ground?
also can you put a fixed spool reel on slidin reel types even thougth its not recommended.
sorry if im bein thick but i jus dont know lol!!!
    thanks for feedback in advance.

I'd say get a good rough ground rod then ya sorted mate I've got a century kompresser ss. It spot on had it 3yr it handles our coast line spot on. There are heavy rods with floppy tips that are good for certain things but I prefer sturdy poker type rods that handle the waves and rock marks better some will say that a floppy is better it's just personal preference. So I'd recommend a heavy ground rod. And as for putting fixed spool on sliding reel seat I would have thought ud have to have it at the top position I don't no this as I've never done it b4 I use multipliers so Carnt really comment on it. Rough ground rod all the way mate

I'd say get yourself a leeda icon ultra power. After having a little feel of one they're probably stiffer than my m427 and for 130 brand new you can't complain if your just starting out
