Alreet lads, fished this one yesterday and was hoping i might get summick for me pund n a half codling, WRONG! There was loads weighed in the cut off weight was 2lb odd. There was rumour of a 12lb cod from the chemical beach but turned owt to be 9lb odd, neil howey won it. Didnt hear who got 2nd place but there was a 6lber for 3rd place. Think heaviest bag was 13lb ish. 273 fished it. I went on hill 60, wind was ok at 1st but was too strong near the end. Apparently there was a load off gear went in the drink on the pier, greys rods, stands, bags etc, they eventually took everyone off at 3pm.

I was under me buddy at Horden, with about an hour to go it was horrendous!
All of us on Horden couldn't believe there were no fish, as the conditions were perfect (sea anyway!!), I managed to winkle a whiting out, but there was a flounder, a bass, and a few stray whiting...very poor!
Apparently we were told it fished the previous day - that'll be reet!!!

Fished Hendon prom, perfect conditions with a heavy swell. Had 3 codlings for nearly 4lb and an undersize coalie. All these were lying on as the wind was horrendous.

Kept expecting something decent all day but it was not to be. Lads around me had next to nowt on straight worm. All mine came to Blacks tipped with a large frozen crab.

I believe some of the other top bags came to crab. Spoke to some of the top rods at the weigh in and most of the bags came from Easington with the odd decent fish dotted around the green wall.

I fished it and got about 4 or 5 undersized codling. The biggest I got was 34 1/2. Give up at about half 2 as the wind and rain just got on my nerves. I know I'm a big puff but my Sunday dinner seemed much more tempting than freezing my balls off for the next hour or so catching fish fingers.
