  • two big uns tied off!

Fished our club match and had to tie two decent fish off on the rails could lift them on my own.
Going back down at 1am to see how big they are, if they are still there.

Interesting Terry, let us know what you ended up with mate.

    Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Ha'way Terry spill the beans, my tiny mind is working overtime. I am reminded of the days when one had to travel light to take account of the possible extra weight caused by fish on the way yaim. I can remember being on one end of my dads homemade rod rest (2 bits of wood and a nail) yomping home with 3 or 4 fish for at least 20lb, gilled and strung up like priests on the way to a cannibal's pot, on more than a few occasions. (could be dreaming sure I'm not) Having to stop for a while and have a rest. May Allah, Yaweh or Paris Hylton strike me down. Durham beaches 1970's, lifting with fish!

        I digress

        Terry fill us in mate!

My dad used to tie me to lloyds jetty when I was 6 and I could land 29 stone of coalies/codlings in one tide on a crab line and I used their eyes for bait. You just waited till the water turned light brown when the s**t pipe was discharged and the fish started feeding. Then we went to the Sandpiper cafe at the ferrylanding for chips.

Sorry for the delay, wasnt deliberate, would have posted last night but got home at 1.50am and was knackered and dissapointed.

One of the fish was still there, however the rats had got there before meand had more than a bit of a tasting, anyway it weighed in at 17lb 2oz, the other one which i thought was between 7lb and 9lb was no where to be seen.

Alan, a drop net is not an option as the fish usually get stuck in among the large boulders some 10 ft in front of the cliff bottom and for drop net to be effective the fish needs to be directly below.

I am afraid its fingers crossed when you fish these marks.
