  • Suicide or mindless fishermen?

Had a ride down the coast earlier to get a bit of fresh air and in the hope that the sea cams were telling lies and there was a good sea running that they weren't showing!

When I was at Collywell bay I saw a sight that was somewhat disturbing, four Whiting had jumped approximately 30ft from the water and landed on dry land only to lie there and die, seems a coincidence that all of the Whiting had landed withing a couple of feet of each other!

I have attached pics of this suicide as I'm sure you wouldn't believe me otherwise!!!!!!

Surely it couldn't have been some mindless fisherman that caught the fish and then just left them there, could it? People with mentality like that wouldn't know which way a lift was going if you give them two guesses!

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares?... He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!

My club does catch and release........it could always apply to these tit-heads, they should be caught and released over he edge.
A bad days fishing is better than a good day at work.

It is something I have never been able to understand yet have seen it too many times.

Can't see how they could have been left by mistake Terry, if they had been in a bag I would have said yes. It's a canny walk up from the bay and to carry them up and then dump them is just stupid.

                        Jim.

At first I thought they may have been left by mistake but they were on the other side of the fence, if you caught fish and intended to keep them you would keep them with your gear you wouldn't have them on the other side where you would have to climb over to retreave them. Like most people have said, the people that left them there are just mindless pratts that have fewer brain cells than the perfectly good fish they have wasted.

The ironic thing is they were nice plump little Whiting they would have made cracking fishcakes!

I fished a club match at Seaton Point last year and found a bag with discarded undersize fish in next to the car park! Fish must've been feelin the cold or something and huddled together before jumping onto dry land to try and stay warm, unfortunately suffocating themselves in the process.
It was after a Toon based club had held a comp up this way!

Oh and the nutter I mentioned the other week who was digging around the boats at Boulmer was,......You guessed it, digging around them again on Sunday morning. Voice like coquet Lighthouse can't be one hundred percent sure but think he had a Sunderland accent!

Obviously some people don't like Shi****g in their own nests!
