  • Hand warmers

With winter coming I need to think about getting a hand warmer. I suffer with poor circulation in my fingers and once they get numb they take ages to come back to life. Could anyone recommend a good handwarmer I could invest in please ?

                Alternative hand warmers

Always had this very same problem frozen cold hands for many years, that only got worse the last two years due to having to take warfarin medication(blood thinning tablets for a heart condition).Got so bad l couldnt even debait elasticated baited hooks on used traces while fishing and that was in not even particularly cold October nights.

Ive tried every suggested method and gadget ever invented bar none, some worked to a certain extent and warmed my frozen useless hands but never constantly and quickly during the whole duration of my sessions.ln matchs it became a waste of time and money just could not regularly debait and prebait up often enough and packed up early on more than one occasion.

Anyway no miracle solutions, just something simple that l was shown in Norway by another North East angler, has just about solved my situation instantly and totally.Golfers hand mittens(Gauntlets)Not gloves as I tried them,my hands were that cold and numb l couldnt even put them on or pull them off.All the gauntlets available are waterproof on the outside, normally, certainly, showerproof, out of the sea, very warm thermally lined, easy to pull on and off very quickly,to reel in,bait up,l even stand and hold my rod and can still feel for bites through the rod.Plus they are not very expensive, less than a tenner, cheap end,Sports Direct,as much as l dont like giving Ashley my money,or you can pay lot more get gortex ones around 30 quid specialist golf clothes suppliers.

They work no matter how cold it gets, winter in Norway minus 25,proved that,I could fish on in any conditions.Only thing to add which also helps dramatically, l like most people wash and dry my hands after baiting up,everytime, dry tea towels l use, before I cast out and then pull the gauntlets back on.Hope this helps someone like it did me.

My mate is in his mid thirties and he suffer real bad with his hands. he bought the metal hand warmer which you put petrol in and these seemed fine. I like the sheepskin pockets on my floatation suit.
