  • bad afternoon!

Decided to head up to St. Mary's this afternoon - planned on staying on the island over the flood. before I left I got everything together and tried my scales - which decided to jam and refuse to work any more - I should have taken that as a hint!

Anyway I got there about an hour before the causeway flooded opened up the small tub I use when travelling light and the lid blew off into the sea - cracking start! then over the next 45 minutes I lost the 5 hook lengths I had made up, along with the only 2 floats I had taken with me. Thought about trying spinning but looked at the causeway about to flood, and decided to head home and chill with the family and have a few G&Ts instead. Oh well, I might have better luck next time

Saw a few guys heading over to the island as I was walking off in a sulk - I hope they had better luck

Aye, just hope I have a better time in two weeks - heading up to see the inlaws in Eyemouth so going to grab a couple of fishing sessions while I am up there!

I decided on a couple of hours fishing on our last night at Port Isaac whilst the wife and bairn went out for a meal. I new as I walked off it was the wrong thing to do. I felt guilty as hell, then it started to rain. Got to cliff and made my way down even though it was dangerous. On the base rocks were slippy as hell. Tried half a dozen different lures and got snagged half a dozen times. Could not see another soul even on the water in boats so decided to call it a day-left feeling cheesed off. Then when I got back put some sausages under the grill and they set on fire setting all the alarms off. Yeah should have just gone for the meal.
