Just a quick question, is it best to wear them next to your skin or with thin socks, trying to keep feet warm when winter fishing.

Wear them over regular socks - I think your feet would sweat hellishly in neoprene.

If your moving about they are fine but when you stop and start fishing your feet get cold quick.
Hope this helps.

Ive wore brittish army arctic socks since serving myself and they do the job but only with a good warm pair of boots... plenty other socks do the same job or better. most army issue kit is way over priced usually on the civvi market and unless ya get them cheap i wouldnt bother as they are nothing special. Having said that its all i wear but thats coz ive got a drawer full of them and they were free.
A good pair of boats and a normal pair of boot socks should do the trick. Stay away from water proof socks they create more problems than they solve.species 2013 - codling, whiting, dab, lesser spotted dogfish, spurdog, flounder, shore rockling, 5bd rockling, long spined sea scorpion, ballan wrasse, pollock, coalfish .......
species hunt to date......... Mackerel, Codling, Whiting, Pouting, LS Sea Scorpion, Shore Rockling, Sprat, Dab, Flounder, Bass, 5 bd Rockling, 3 bd Rockling, Turbot, Eelpout, Pollock, Lesser Weever, Plaice, Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Spurdog, Ballan Wrasse, Coalfish.......TBC!!
