hi been out tonight used the lazy lug not a sniff at first but i then tipped it with a bit of squid and then the knocks came just fished byth river next to the pilot jetty but managed 2 flattys quite small 1 coalie and a small coding so in my opinion it does work if the fish are there and hungry they will take it got a few left i will use them next week then i will put some fresh lug or rag in tub and see what happens, worth a try if they are not stinking after a week its worked lol

          John, ask yourself the question?

Could it have been the squid that attracted the fish?

You got no bites until you tipped the lazy lug with squid.

And if you had put lazy lug you would have still caught nowt.

Sorry to be so pessamistic mate, but i have fished for longer than i care to remember and have seen just about every gimmick going, you cannot beat having the real thing.

I know you had originally said it would be good for those to have at home as a stand by, if you want something to keepat home for when the wife gives you the nod then get some frozen black lug (Top Bait) or frozen crab, razor, mussel or squid. (Money well spent)

Hi John, i think your second post sums it up, if there is a sea on. when this happens, the whole sea bed is on the move. all the creatures in the sand and on/under the rocks are disturbed, and fish will take most any bait. after a big winter northeasterly, try lazy lug/mussel for the big cod,it'll catch fish but razors, limpets, piddocks, and small hardbacks will do the trick.use your bait in accordance with the sea /weather conditions. tight lines.

you are perfecty right i do have these baits at hand i get all mine in summer freeze it for winter costs me nothing just thought like i said before you can use the top baits get nothing and get some one come down with a bag of rag 5 days old dead ,stinking and they get fish seen it too many times sometimes fresh bait is not the answer all the time i leave my razors a couple of days out of freezer before i use them they smel but dont stink if there is a storm how long before the fish find them are they dead or aive? These lug i must admit are alot tougher than fresh lug but the juices are the same and thats what i believe counts cod will take anything if they are hungry

Sorry mate but i beg to differ, fish next to me with your stinkin bait or lazy lug and 99.9% of the time my fresh bait will outdo you.
And i think would go for just about any half decent angler.
