Rich parents, steal fishing tackle and anything else they can get their hands on.
In order to become "old & wise", you must first be young & stupid.
Age and experience will beat youth and enthusiasm every time.
Youth and Skill is no match for Age and Treachery.

      perspective is important

There has to be a line drawn between what is just an angler out with a couple of friends enjoying a couple of cans while he fishes and what is anti-social behaviour.
Decent hard working people should not be linked in with these a-holes just because they enjoy a beer.
Also we need to recognise that people be they young or old having a few cans does not necessarily mean they are going to beat you up then go off and burgle your house.
The majority of us have all been young and drank underage, hanging out with our mates and some birds in the hope of getting some, then been confronted by some doo gooder who assumes our drinking and enjoyment will bring down society.

I'd personally ban any alcohol on the piers, it looks trashy as fk.
