I heard just a snatch of it on the news over here in Benidorm and was waiting to see if anybody posted anything more about it. I am sure we have all done stupid things in our time, but to pay for it with your life is a high price to pay. Here is hoping that the 3 who survived have learnt a salutory lesson and thank God for their good luck. The policeman deserves a medal. If all about you are catching fish, cast in their swim !!!

Tich, you\'re not \"bimbling along\", m8
I know that remarks made following such tragic situations can often seem bland and said without feeling, but I believe that your comments are heartfelt by us all.
It is so sad to hear of a young life being lost (I don\'t know how I would cope, if I lost either of my young\'ns).
The heroic actions of the policeman well deserve all the attention they\'ve been afforded. All the reports I\'ve read however, just mention \"two anglers\" having pulled 2 of the girls out before the policeman arrived at the scene - no names - nothing - about them.
Faced with a situation like they were, I\'d like to think that I would\'ve reacted in the same way - but would I have?
Hopefully, I\'ll never have cause to find out.

Well said all. Absolutely heartbraking for the family and friends of the young lass. Well done to the rescuers for going above and beyond the call of duty!"And I looked, and behold'a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was death, and hell followed with hi, and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword and with hunger, and with the beasts of the earth"

You have to admire the courage of the rescuers, putting their own life in danger in order to rescue someone else. There are countless stories of rescuers drowning while attempting to save others. I particularly remember another tragic incident when three police officers died while trying to save someone in the sea at Blackpool. If I recall correctly, the person they were trying to recue had got into difficulties after jumping in to the sea to save their dog. All four people were washed out to sea and drowned.
As a parent it seems impossible to comprehend what it must be like to lose a child. Words seem inadequate in such circumstances but my thoughts are with the young girl\'s family.
Unfortunately, it\'s tragic stories like this that make NESA\'s support of the RNLI so important.
Remember, be careful out there, don\'t take risks, and make sure your own children appreciate the dangers of the sea.Pat. Pending

Don\'t know if I would have had the courage to go in? Thankfully someone did.
However, I\'m sure that faced with the situation, as it was occurring, the adrenaline flowing, you\'d suprise yourself with what you might do.

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs
Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

I think it is only something you could Know at the time Ell, Very brave thing they did. Looking at the photo\"s that were shown on the local news I don\"t know if I could either mate. Hopefully we will never be in that position.Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.
