A reliable source has told me 2 cod for 25lb+ have been taken off the Middleton at Hartlepool.One of 15 to 17lb the other of 9 to 11lb depending on scales.An angling correspondent turned up for pics and the story within the hour.By the way,both to the same lad,about 10 mins apart.

tat i fished it last night it was very busy as far as we got told on the peir one was taken 10lb from middleton peir and a 16lb was taken from the pier at the headlands ( i call it the hoof) dont know if thats its name we left the pier at 9.30 pm high tide was 5.pm but people were still comeing as they heard about the cod :P -
The news about the 16lber from the HEUGH is new,but the 2 cod taken from the Middleton were taken by the one lad 10/15 mins apart.The lad that told me was 2 rods away and sick as a chip.
It\'ll be busy as sin for the next few days so if I go out it\'ll be Horden or Seaham.Comment

I got the weights wrong,the biggest was 22lb 110oz,the middle one 10lb 7oz,and the smallest 1lb 8oz,all to the same bloke,name of John Wilson,no not that one.Out of 4 cod caught that day he got 3. report in the Hartlepool Mail.Comment
