  • NESA annual shore comp, the result.

Great turnout tonight, thank's to everyone that turned up. I think there are just as many turn up for the crack as for the fishing lol. Conditions were not exactly perfect with a very flat sea.

36 fished and 9 weighed in although I did recieve a couple of texts from lads that had caught a couple of fish but didn't go to the weigh in, cheer's for that lads always apreciated. A couple of others with just the odd fish did not weigh in either.

Heaviest fish Rod Storey 2 lb 4 oz. Codling. Winning £100:00

Heaviest bag Wallsend Paul 5 lb 9 oz. 1 codling 5 Whiting. Winning £80:00

Third Keith Brown 4lb 1 oz 5 Whiting 1 Dab winning a rod stand very kindly donated by Brian of Frazers Angling in Gateshead and Whitley Bay.

Fourth Kingfisher 3 lb 7 oz 3 Whiting 1 Flounder no Rockling winning a fishing bag very kindly donated by Ian at Game Fishing Supplies of Morpeth.

£360:00 was taken in all with £180:00 paid out for heaviest fish and heaviest bag leaving £180:00 for the RNLI fund.

To add to that there was a wee comp and raffle a few weeks ago organised through Angling North East, by Tompa who kindly handed the money over to me to add to our money from tonight.

I would like to say a big thank you to the Angling North East lads for their kindness and hard work and for the money lol.

Thay raised a total of £165:00 which when added to our £180:00 from tonight makes a very tidy sum of £345:00.

Very well done to all involved you should all be very proud.

    Jim.

Yes Paul, I forgot to thank Bert and Terry, Cheer's mate and I really wish I had followed your advice, I could murder a Kebab right now lmao. Hope you and Claire enjoyed yours.

It was nice to see David and Rod again, even though it was just for a short while lol. Hope to see you both again for the N v S in February, even if you are fishing for the wrong side David lol.

        Jim.

Not much to add to what's been posted ,hard going but great craic and for a good cause ,great to see and speak to everyone and yes I agree we should do it more often , we fished the round rocks at Whitley and the smell from the Indian restaurant was fantastic all night ,but I've not ordered one although I did think about it lol , it's the great people on this site and ANE as well that make events like this so worthwhile ,always a pleasure to be involved ,just glad Jim and Keith didn't stitch me up with a stewards jacket lol.
PS Bert hope you fixed the car lol.

Congrats to Rod and Paul.........and well done all (lol...that rhymes)

Excellent turn out on a less than perfect night (conditions wise) resulting in another fantastic amount being raised for the RNLI - and the boost of the donation from ANE is outstanding (well done Tompa and everyone on ANE).

Well done everyone, especially Jim & Tompa for organising the comps, that's another tidy sum for the RNLI pot

It was nice to see everyone again & meet a few new faces, sorry for nearly blinding you with my headlight on the beach Alan.

Thanks to Neil for letting me tag along and keeping an eye on me, I was quite happily standing on the sand bank not realising how deep the water behind was getting.

"Fourth Kingfisher 3 lb 7 oz 3 Whiting 1 Flounder no Rockling winning a fishing bag very kindly donated by Ian at Game Fishing Supplies of Morpeth" lol

"just glad Jim and Keith didn't stitch me up with a stewards jacket lol" Always next time mate!!!

Keith mate you wouldn't be the first to have problems on the sand bars on Blyth beach mate. I have known people to have had to get a piggy back off there lmao.
