Ive been fishing quite a lot recently on ssp and roker pier and ive seen people with the odd can of fosters and few trackies tucked into socks, but haven't seen any pi$$heads, or trouble, or people chucking fish about, and haven't even seen that much rubbish (the ssp pier man is always around emptying the bins) and the chavas ive chatted to are just as sound as the anglers i've chatted with.
I did avoid the piers the first 2 or 3 weeks of the mackerel so maybe I didnt see the worst of them.
I know Im new to all this, and i'm probably seen as one of the maki-bashers myself, but just wanted to say it's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. (maybe if I stick with fishing and put a winter season in, then next year I'll be grumbling about them as well!)
however....... on my way back from doing some lrf on cambois rocks last weekend I popped along blyth pier for the first time for a look won't be going back there again in a hurry. f-ing mental. there wasnt even a single fish caught for the hour or so I was there, but it was still chaos. I didnt even bother taking my rod out the bag, just watched the entertainment for a bit then came back to civilisation on shields pier.
