is a daiwa sl30sh a rock reel or not

i know of a few reels where a pin is shearing in the reel
a certain tackle dealer says daiwa charge £10 to replace them

if the pin keeps shearing shouldnt they do somthing about the problem

or has anyone else had problems with them

Sless ive got five sloshs i have had one for about six years and its had 3 shafts and 3-4 sets of bearings in, and the others have had the odd shaft, but they have all had bearings, the bearings just dont last, i never put my reels under water and if they do get wet i strip them down and oil them, and i always clean them with a damp cloth when i get in, even if its 3 oclock in the morning and im ****ed off because ive blanked. but i do rate them as a heavy ground reel, but it would be better quality if the shaft was made from a stainless steel shaft instead of brass.

he took it back and the shop the manager said it shouldnt be used on the rocks
its down to misuse and abuse
              what a load of codswallop

anyone know about warranty's on them

Graham, have got 3 and have had them a long time. They are the old type and not the newer models, have no problems whatsoever.
Get them serviced at the end of every winter ( wash and grease) never had to replace a single part and hardly clean them after fishing (if it aint broke dont fix it)
