  • casting with a multiplier

using a slosh 30 and when my hands are a bit wet I'm struggling to keep a grip of the spool during a powerful cast. Has anyone got any tips to cure this?

    regards

tape some bike innertubing below reel and use it to grip spool,

dry with a cloth prior to casting will save your thumb
its the taking part that counts

I always carry a bar towel or tea towel to wipe the hands down with before casting.
Stops getting bait bits all over your gear as well.

        Hi Stu.

I had that problem, The best cure, in my opinion, is to use the reel low on the rod, Not all anglers are comfortable with this, but it worked well for me.

I also have that problem, ive tapped some rubber innurtube to the rod and stretch it over the spool when casting, it never slips.

Try cutting the fingers of a marigold etc washing glove into 1 inch pieces. Use one of these on the thumb you use to grip the spool. Works a treat and 2 gloves worth last ages. My current batch are from Ikea gloves which are very cheap.

Could always try a fixed spool

I use Neoprene gloves you can pull the tips back over your fingers to tie knots etc and i put the tip on the spool to control line flow

think i might try the pieces of rubber glove, just need something to grip during the initial cast but leaving my thumb exposed for spool control.

                regards
