  • Thinking of packing in winter fishing

Right lads, just putting some feelers out ATM to see if there would be any interest in my cod gear. I'm thinking of packing in winter fishing with a baby on the way in the next few weeks. I'd be looking to sell it altogether. I've got a metal banded Kompressor sport in good condition with a new abu griplock reel seat. A 525 mk2 in good condition, 525 slidey, (my back up reel) Slosh 30. shakespeare seat box with full breakaway convertion kit, and a fair amount of terminal tackle. If I was to sell up, I would be looking for £350. Any genuine intrest, shoot me a PM.

Keep the gear, cos the bug will bite again and you'll spend a whole lot more trying to replace the stuff you once had.
        Cheers.

I'll kit you out for £ 120 for a good rod and reel. If and when you get back into fishing.

£350 seems a good price but you may struggle to sell as a job lot and might be better off selling seperate! You may even get more money that way!
            I personally would say:
            Rod 160
            Mag2 75
            Mag 60
            Slosh 45
            Box 40
So theres 380 without the tackle

Don't do it !!!! Pack it away , if ya fancy a night away from the bairn in the winter you can get it out , if you sell it your snookered mate :-)
                  I am a fisherman !
It is not merely something that I do
It is who I am !
Fishing is not simply my escape.
It is where I am supposed to be.
It is not a place that I go
But a lifelong journey that I am taking
It is a passage that was shown to me and that I will continue to show others.
When you understand all of this you will then know me .
                  And we will fish together

I don't know your financial situation but I would say don't sell the gear unless you have to. Put it away and it's there when you need it

imagine the scene, there is an amazing sea on, just dropped down after a big blow the tide is perfect, reports of big fish coming in already. kid is in bed, it's either fishing for a few hours before bed and maybe have a session of a lifetime, orrrrr eastenders or something equally rubbish to melt your brain away.
i know which i would pick. eastenders! lol jk
good luck whatever you do but if your short on cash id sell the majority of it, but keep enough so you can sneak away if the opportunity arises.

Have you considered selling the rod and 2 of the reels and the box and then buying a cheaper rod and a rucksack so you can still go if you ever want to?

Mate, I drifted away from fishing in the early eighties but I still kept my old ABU gear never thinking I would use it again but I have just started fishing again after 30 years and I am enjoying using my old gear more now than I did then, now I can't get enough ! Hang on to your gear you will use it again ...
