Yes. When I was in devon they were throwing bread on the surface to float about then fishing a float in amongst it with a ragworm on and were pulling out big ones. You can get them on a modified Meps spinner too baited with rag (modified by taking the treble off adding 2" fluorocarbon and a size 6 single hook). I tried that with isomes but had no luck but have been told they work too. One of them nicked my isome off the hook but got awayLast edited by Thunderpants; 18-07-2013, 11:07 AM.

Caught a couple just over 3 lb in Whitehaven harbour years ago just off the slipway. We used to float fish 6lb line, small chunks of bread on small size 12 treble hooks and plenty of bread groundbait was the only way which seemed to work. Landing net was required though, not a chance of lifting fish of that size with small hooks and mouths.Gear: Old Skool !

Free lined Amongst bread ground bait
Takes Are more aggressive on worm or fish baits
We even used to use bacon rind as harder for them to suck of the hookSpecies 2015 - Cod, Bass, Flounder, Dab, LS Sea Scorpion

Used to use size 10 or 12 Black and Peacock Spiders (Flies) on Cambois Hot Water Pipe many years ago. They can strip small bits of bait off small hooks without getting hooked but you do not need to retrieve and recast if your using flies, so less chance of spooking them!

grey ghosts
Me and my mate went down the marina early doors at 5am got a bit groundbait in started to get some interest from the mullet then the s***house security guard told us to pack up due to the bylaw that prohibits fishing there! i find this absolutely disgusting considering the fish i spotted the day before were easily 4-5lb which would provide fantastic sport when everywhere else there is very litle to be caught in the north east! I am FURIOUS!

Been feeding them on and of for a month so ain't to hard to get them feeding, the hard part is to get the feeding near the slip way and round sand point were they can't stop you, been trying to coax them along towards the gantry but they seem to like the back wall , it might just be me but u only ever see them over high water, had a good look about over low water and don't see them I wonder if they leave the dock or just hold up under the pontoons and boats, if they do leave the dock it might be possible to get them feeding on the way in and hold them there for a while .
