  • Roker Pier

Anyone know what time the car park opens at Roker Pier? (The RNLI one). Heading over in the morning and was wanting to get there for about 6:30ish, but wondered if there would be anywhere to park?

    Cheers All

Got a few feathers here but I am also taking a few spinners - might as well have a bit of fun and see how they fight. No fun in just yanking a line up

Haha, you will be pleased you didn't put any cash on that! I got there for about 6:30, set up about 3/4 of the way along and didnt catch a thing! had a few knocks from the little bait fish as I was pulling the feathers in - but other than that nothing. I might have been OK if I was out all day, but unfortunately I had to leave around 11:30 as I was going to my sons school picnic back up here in Newcastle. Have to say mind, in the time I was there I didnt notice anyone else taking fish either.

All in all though it has still been a canny day, time for a few beers in the garden now I reckon while I determine my next plan of attack

Aye, I was tempted to give Shields a try when I set out this morning - beginning to wish I had! Thinking about heading over to St Mary's on sunday morning for a couple of hours after I drop the wife off at work. Lob a float out for a bit.

From what I was told there was no great mackerel catches on Shields pier either, 1 or 2 here and there but no great numbers. Then again apparently there were dolphins about so maybe that's why.
