  • Litter on our beaches

Just watched a report on Breakfast TV about the state of our beaches. They looked at Scarborough, Norther Ireland and Brighton. At the weekend just past they collected 20 tonnes - yes 20 tonnes from Brighton Beach! That is outrageous. They reckoned that the 45-60 age group were the worst offenders. So it's not just the piers and not just the young "mackie bashers" that leave a mess.

Our society is falling apart with no respect for our surroundings!
2016 - Cod, Dab, Dogfish, Gurnard, Ling, Mackerel, Saithe, Scorpian fish. .

    That's disgraceful.

Mind sometimes when the bins start getting full and rubbish overflows, thinking the airshows in Sunderland. Mind there nothing as bad as that pic, I passed the great north run an hour after the finish last year, the mess was unreal along the coast road, those silver blankets were all over the roads and pavements.

Then again the councils have teams out cleaning up after these events, maybe they should get the rubbish team out onto beaches at weekends with there ticket machines and fine people littering.

Watched it too, felt sick. Apparently has been a good few summers for plaice down there. Could think of nothing worse than fishing there when it looks like that.
