  • East End and Hendon Open

Alreet lads n lasses, this comp is on this sunday from 1pm til 5pm with the Shiremoor open having been cancelled there could be a good turn owt for this comp. Theyres only this comp and the Shields open that use this stretch of coast(Shields pier to seaham) and it would give a few people a chance to fish this stretch of coast that they wouldnt normally get, Hope to see a few faces there.

Dont know exactly but i think its a tenner plus pools. S and A in south shields already has the tickets for it so i presume the other local shops will have them also. You can register on the day aswell. I'll find out more info and post it here 2mora

This was in the sunderland echo 2nite.fishing is between 1pm and 5pm between The Old Beach at seaham and the walkway at south shields and up to the wearmouth bridge in the wear. The full extent of roker pier is within bounds, including the roundhead. Entry is £10 and the prizes are £500 for heaviest single fish, £250 for the heaviest aggregate catch, £100 for 2nd heaviest catch and £50 for heaviest flatfish, plus table prizes. There are also prizes for women and juniors. Registration at The Welcome Tavern at the south dock from 9:30am. This bit was not in the Echo: I know that at least one shop has tickets in advance but this was not advertised, it does not mention Shields pier but is within the boundaries so unless they state otherwise then i would presume that it is fishable. I'll post any other info if i get it.

Ive just found out where it is, when you come over the Wearmouth Bridge heading towards the town centre keep to the left, the road bears round to the left after the traffic lights, follow the road as it bends to the right. At the roundabout take the 1st left(theres a pub on the other corner but not sure what its called) follow the road down and apparently its down there. Im looking for me a to z just to make sure!!!
