I know pics can be deceptive but that looks nowhere near the size claimed to me. Regarding the state of the pier if was awful already during the week when I was down. People gutting fish while they are still half alive and leaving piles of guts strewn around. One lad dispatching fish by ripping them from the hooks and throwing them on the ground at full force. Its amazing we don't get banned from the pier for me.

He mentioned the state of the pier looking like a bloody war had happened, it wasn't like that earlier on, on maybe I was wearing blinkers. Had 1 fella walking around asking for some line, I'll buy it off ya, should thought of that before going fishing mate.
Its disgraceful the language on the end aswell sometimes, cnut this and that when there are couples and families walking by.

Monster Maccy
While fishing yesterday evening a lad from Gateshead was havin a bit of a struggle getting round the gates on s/s pier so give him a bit of a hand, asked why He was so paggered out so he opened his box up and well bugger me that Mackeral was huge and yes I picked it up anything seaham can do etc.So for first shot in 5 years 1 dab 2 flounder no plaice, but nice craic with the old couple he had 2 plaice to 21/2 and a 31/2 cod.The chineese must love Mackeral as they took about 2 cwt in bin bags and annoying to see kids leaving bags of fish by the gate c'ant be bothered to carry them home.

I aint disputing the weight of the fish lads, I thought it hard to believe but then again look the Seaham mackerel, the lad seen it weighed but as you know scales can sometimes be deceiving. Still at 62cm its a cracker, Davey/Blanked Again pulled in 43cm one last year was a good 2lb.

Verification
Just read my Sunday Sun fishing Blog by Mr Charlton as usual getting gear ready for a t-time shot on marsden beach, noted that the Mackeral pictured was a different shape/profile to the one caught friday s/s pier. I advised ney asked the lad from Gateshead to get the fish verified at a fishing shop as being aware of tales of fantasy among us fishing folk, hope he has. It was akin to a albacore in being more rounded/oval/fat and as an engineer by profession a fair judge of measuring things it will be the biggest Maccy I'll see in my lifetime.
