You can catch them off the local rock and beaches in the right conditions mate, sometimes they can be 20m off the beach cashing bait fish but for a more steady supply then hit a pier.... if you go early enough the gold blinging chav tastic massive wont be there to spoil your day! The lazy buggers are still in bed with the munchies after last nights cannabis binge.

I've caught them off the beach at late evening and night in 2ft of water within about 50yrds using Black / silver surface lures. Also from the rocks as close as 20ft away.

The chav's don't get out as far as St. Mary's do they? was going to have a drive over this weekend but not if it is going to be heaving with people trying to fish.

few weeks ago the makky were no-where near and there were still radgies on blyth pier at 6am like wacking daylights out. although being charvers you do get alot of them who are kanny lads with good crack on, who are just after a few fish like you. it's the ones that get mortal bring all their non fishing mates getting rowdy, throw mess around and pay no regard for others safety that spoil it. on a side note, high pressure and boiling hot this weekend, take hard hats if you do go to the piers
