Can anyone recomend any good marks for (beginner) lure fishing (ive got a spinner, toby's and a diving minnow) along the south shields/marsden/whitburn coastline, at low tide, Thinking of getting out for a couple of hours on wednesday night.

Seriously though, is it worth trying spinners off the pier?
No mate wind blowing straight westerly up to 20 odd mph so you want to find a place thats below land height to get some shelter the island at marsden might be worth a shot or the shelves at whitburn if you dont mind a little scale down hill again cannon ball rocks is slightly sheltered with wind on your back might be coalys about
why not try the jettys and promonades in the tyne or wear,on small high water tides,the lads have had some success with power isomes,and there is plenty of light at a lot of marks in the rivers. davy.

Try whitburn mate, there is a skeer in front of the south shelf of the wherry, you can get down onto it very very easily and can fish the tide at least 2 1/2 hours up, then just move up to higher ground, species there to expect, wrasse, coley, Pollock,cod so a decent chance of a Pollock, and you could even switch to float fishing
