  • Druridge Bay

Thinking of going up to Druridge Bay in the morning, never been before. Any advice on the best places to fish, and park. Happy enough to just try for some flatties.

Any where along the beach will fish , the blocks are the best , fish bottom water with light gear , carp rod and 2once bomb will do , but you need fish strip , mackerel on a size 2 hook just hooked once through a strip and let the tide pull ya along .
2 hook flapper at 20/30 yards is all you need
Good luck ya might get a turbot
    I am a fisherman !
It is not merely something that I do
It is who I am !
Fishing is not simply my escape.
It is where I am supposed to be.
It is not a place that I go
But a lifelong journey that I am taking
It is a passage that was shown to me and that I will continue to show others.
When you understand all of this you will then know me .
    And we will fish together

        Cheers lads.

Had a successful trip! got 5 flounder (they were only tiny like, no bigger than 5 or 6 inches, but still pleased).

I drove towards the bay from Widdrington, turned left at the sharp right bend and drove down to a little turning circle at a dead end, walked onto the beach from there and fished from there, it was pretty much the middle of the beach.

Used two rods and had sliding ledgers on with size 2 hooks and a bit of ragworm.

Started fishing at 7 but they didn't start biting till about 8.10, I got all 5 one after another till about 8.45, then nothing (high tide was 9.30). Didn't need to cast far, caught them all between the beach and the sand bank, about 30 yards out.

Chucked them all back in, but took a couple of photos, will try and post them later.

Druridge Bay is really nice, it was red hot at 7 in the morning! And nice and quiet for a bit, until the dog walkers started showing up from 9ish.

Well done . Its one of my favourite places to fish, but like phillsafc, I like to fish it over low water in the holes that are exposed.
