If you don't want to spend that kind of money mate another good one is a lucky craft gun fish. I think you can pick these up for around £12. They can be worked in choppier conditions than the patchinko imho.
    Hope this helps.

For fooks sake, it was a simple thread " are patctincos that good ,worth the money" your sitting there assuming he has not got suitable tackle or knowledge, he might fish to a better standard than the rest of but hasn't used a patch before. Neil, we live at opposite ends of the region but if your ever fishing south of the tyne drop me a pm and I will try to meet up with you
and you can have a go with mine and I will show you what I know, ( it won't take long).
The first time I used one I borrowed it from a friend , had my fist fish on the patch within 20 mins. (i was on a good mark) and ordered my own the next day

@ Paul1971 Advice is always welcomed but it's got to be relevant to the questions asked surely. I dont feel i could give advice if I didn't have the experience of said subject.
Am sure there is a lot of lads who will read your "cut & paste" and learn something, so thanks for posting it. Reading other parts of Keith whites articles will also help understanding lure fishing.
I could also stand up as a cut & paste keyboard warrior and show one of your posts from another forum asking how to use a surface lure, you stated on there you were finding it difficult???

I like my patchinko lures very much, simple to use really, just slow retrieve and twitch your rod tip. That will get you fish no worries.
Don't over think it or doubt what you are doing. If your not getting fish, they probably ain't on your mark the same time as you.

The black and silver is my favourite, there's a few pictures in my albums. When retrieving leave a little slack then sweep the rod either left or right quite hard 2 or 3 times. If you get it right the lure should go sideways in small erratic movements. It should take quite a while to retrieve if you're doing it right. Try and leave it every minute or so and let its back end dip, quite often youll get hit when the lure is stationery. They cast like a bullet and the trebles fitted are razor sharp. They may be £20 a pop but you shouldn't lose one as they don't go under the surface. IMO the best surface lure bar none. A word of advice though, gulls are easily fooled by the movements of this lure. If they start coming for it, reel like hell. It takes a while to land a gull and they bite lol
