I have had the answer but its not true. So why let crab in opens?and why have they got a bigger turn out?because everyone has the same chance of winning there is always going to be more skilled fishermen in a comp but all iam saying is by banning crab takes the chance of a lucky fish down. In winter i agree crab and whites have the edge but summer when there easly available?

No offence but if you take your fishing seriously enough you can get crab when ever you want through the summer
If everyone had crab it gives everyone a chance, where as a bait ban cuts the amount of people who have a chance of winning it IMO

Bait bans are a waste of time, why? because banning baits limit all fishermen, besides which, what about the cheaters, you know the ones that go out of bounds, or what about those that turn up with pre-caught fish, don't tell me it doesn't happen, because I've seen it done, and seen some caught at it.
I've seen people turn up with fish in their car boots, before comp start, and pull them out to weigh them after comp, so I guess according to some people that's ok...not using the bait means everyone should be the same, but what about already having the fish?...
Bait is entirely up to the fisherman, he has the chance to either go and get some himself, or go and buy some, its dependant on the type of fisherman and how dedicated he is, its a load of tosh that clubs ban some baits, it sounds like the committee's are a bunch of lazy SoB's who need to get a backbone and stop trouncing those who can be bothered and be real fishermen.
Its because of the cheating that I don't fish in clubs, and the idiotic rules that some clubs impose, it makes me seethe that clubs do crap like this, its the reason they won't get any subs from me, and it will stay like that until they stop spouting stupid rules and allow the cheats to get away with all and sundry, I was a member of the Caer Urfa club years ago, from 1980, but they started upping the subs, dropping comps, and brought in stupid rules, so both my father and myself left after over a decade of membership, I find it a lot more fun to go and fish for myself.
