right get this into your head someone who has just started fishing is more likely to start match fishing when he or she can get the same bait from a tackle shop very easily and be at no real disadvantage to the resident match lads and lasses then in turn they can learn the rigs ect each match they fish.why don't you try organising a few local matches with all baits in and see how many you get turning out week in week out

Its a load of rubish that any novice enters a comp against top match lad using the same bait has the same chance what a load of **** what about there tactics of using carp style rods 4lb line and all that its a massive advantage now if a novicee turned up with a bucket full of crab that you can get easly enough he has a chance of getting somethin i have seen jim dobbie kenny mccoy at work in the river i would have no chance of winning they have it off to a art and the gear they have for it. Crab gives the novices a chance in my eyes thats why in the opens anyone has a good chance making them big turn outs

How did Jim Dobie,Kenny McCoy ect ect ect start they work at there fishing hence simple baits gets people attending matches to then in turn give them the bug to learn the end tackle and rods ect everyone has to start somewhere.I take you don't bother fishing matches as you cant be bothered to baby sit crab so you would have no chance of winning a match hence you keep going on about this subject when you have been told the answer time and time again

You're right, it is to get the numbers up, but lets be serious here and no disrespect, if you're fishing a match and cant get your hands on a load of crab youre probably not going to win it anyway

The people imposing these bans know that theyre just adding money to the pot as the fact crab is banned will appeal to lesser anglers
