i've used allsorts but can recommend berkley crystal 30lb with 80 braid as shocker (use 8turn grinner on the thin line 4turn on the thick). i've had no problems!

Power Pro Super 8 (8 strand braid) has a rounder profile than the normal Power Pro (4 strand) so does not dig in or air-knot as much. I use 0.28mm (44lb) and it's strong enough you don't need a shockleader with 5oz/6oz leads never get a crackoff. I prefer the bright yellow one as its easier to see.

Thanks. I think ill try that one. Easier than tying a leader on. I don't use heavier than 6 oz weights so should be ok.

This is the cheapest place to get it in uk Power Pro Super 8 Slick Line at low prices - Askari Fishing Tackle Shop but I think they have a £40 minimum order. The 0.32mm one is only £13.99.

It's also cheap from USA on ebay and arrives in just over a week.

a lot of the power pro from ebay is snide m8, its best to stick to the stuff well known dealers sell.

So when buying braid is it the diameter I'm looking out for ? ( lure/spinning )

wont really matter on a fixed spool id imagine , its a multi where a bigger diameter works better.
