Off to Portpatrick this weekend, can get Rag up there in Stranraer but what else should I take?
Got some crab and Razor in the freezer but nowt else!
Also wil be doing some spinning and have the usual lures both hard and soft and a couple of packets of preserved sand eel.
Frozen sandeel, bluey, makkie, crab (can get them pretty easy up there),
Thats what I took last time.. Apparently the locals say we were doing it right but the fish were nowhere to be seen.. Fished next to the scottish national team one evening and even they blanked
depends what your wanting to catch mate.
smoothies can be caught off the beaches so id advise crab baits
pollock will take ragworm and sandeel asweill wrasse
anything else up there will take mackerel and squid
I'm going to the mull this weekend as well. Not sure exactly where. We're just gonna take the usual baits up. Rag, peeler crab, bluey in case the mackerel aren't in and one of the lads is getting some mussel and maybe some lug. What size hooks will I need to try and catch a smooth hound?
Anything will catch doggies pullies, flappers out mate with makki we are going up in 2 weeks for a long weekend
