Ive been using long and low rigs with a bait clip towards the top of the rig that the line doubles over and the hook attatches to an impact shield above the lead.
Im having trouble with the doubled over line not disengaging from the the bait clip at the top so its presenting more like a flapper than the intended long and low.
The bait clips im using are a black silicone sheath that slides onto the rig body and a wire letter r shape ipside down that goes upwards into the silicone.
I dont want to use another impact shield as theyre a bit pricey. Anyone got any suggestions.
Ive seen the bait just hung on one of the gripper legs before and when ive cast yhat way it always seems to release without any tangles but its not as streamlined as id like for casting.
Is there a better way of making the line double over for clipping down which will be guaranteed to release every time?
