The Yellow Isle by the radio station is always worth a shot or go a bit further south down the golf course, good marks there. Also north of the harbour around Dunsky Castle always good for pollack and bass,

Go into portpatrick harbour and hang a left keep on along the shore past all tge pubd and hotels etc you will end up in a car park in a disused quarry. Easyish climb up n over n down the rocks. Popular mark on the guide above.

Good marks along the north walking from the harbour too.

Kilantrichan lighthouse would have been on my agenda when I was up there in feb but 3ft of snow in the carpark stopped any access.

Moonfleet have an os map with some good marks and likely species marked on it for that area. If you get a chance go in n ask.

Zenith Silver Minnow spinners work well for pollack 28g and 40g and they cast a long way. Also jelly worms (black/red ones or motor oil work best for me) and redgills (take a selection of colours). I have also caught them on Berkeley gulp sandeels in pearl white. Consider using weedless hooks if it's a very snaggy mark.
