Alright Lads,
I went out again on Monday, i was meant to be seeing the time share but amazingly she wanted to go to St Abbs and sun bathe!! My luck was in i thought!
After battling with bank holiday traffic we got to St Abbs after 2 hours, the wind was howling. I coaxed her to the mark, which usually takes me 20 mins, took her an hour but fair game to her as there's some pretty scary drops!!
I thought my luck had started to ebb.
I started to fish and had nothing for an hour, she got bored and said she "wanted to see a fish" and mentioned something about going home. I'd tried all of the tools in my lure fishing arsenal (very limited) but not had a knock.
My luck was definitely running out!
Then after saying "it was my last cast" before we went home, but probably a load more- you know how it is, i got what i think is my PB Pollack. My previous PB was 5Lb which i'd weighed at home but this was bigger and it was on lighter gear. It had my rod bent double, to the point where i could see light between my reel and rod, it was taking line too. It fought for 10 minutes as i tried to stop it holing up somewhere. It gave up and I managed to pull it in without any tackle breaking. Phew. My luck hadn't completely ran out.
I think it weighed around 6lb is my new Pb Pollock. (gonna have to get some lightweight scales)
The fish had taken the same grey sand eel as the fish the day before but this time it hit it on the drop which took me by surprise.
4 hours in the car, 2 hours walking and climbing, 1 1/2 hours fishing and one fish to show for it. I love going fishing
Sorry for another long report but non of my mates fish and she can't be arsed to listen.
Cheers and tight lines
