After managing to get another pass out and a couple of quick texts to Nathan a second trip to St Abbs was on. The winds were forecast to be light in the morning and picking up after lunch so an early launch was in order. Picked up Nathan at 05:15 and pointed the car north. We decided to launch out of St Abbs Harbor this time, with public toilets opening at 07:00 and a very short work to the slip way, plus a cafe to get a cuppa when we got back in it was well worth the £7 Parking (£1 and hour or £7 all day) and the £3 slip charge. We launched into calm conditions an headed north, coming out of the harbor we were into 10-15m of water within moments.
The water up here is deep and very clear this time of year with the bottom visible on in 8m of water.
It wasn't long before we were into fish, Nathan landing a Pollock swiftly followed by a nice Wrasse.
We continued north fishing close in, in the bays and around the rocks, this produced plenty of fish with Pollock up to about 4lb Codling up to 6lb and plentey of Coley with a couple of mackerel chucked in for good measure.
We did paddle out about 200 yards putting us in 20m plus of water but all the fish seemed to be close in.
We paddled back in about 14:00 after a cracking days fishing and my new favorite place to kayak with cracking fishing and some nice rocky outcrops, channels and caves to explore.
Hopefully i will be able to add a video as soon as Nathan has edited it, after loosing my gopro a few weeks back i'm Camless for now
