  • ST Abbs

Headed up st St Abbs yesterday, picked up Nathon (Natonthetyne) and Carl (Snaggeduplad) on the way, we arrived at St Abbs at about 18:00 and were quickly into Small Coley, Nat had a couple on soft plastics, myself and carl were pulling them in thick and fast on the trusty old Zeniths. I switched to the LFR setup for a bit of sport, but only managed one small Coley, i hoofed into a better one but lost if on the way in. Swithed back to the zenith and hooked into a better fish..

turned out to be a nice Codling about 3lb.

We moved mark not long after that and we were back into the Coley again, a much better stamp this time a round to 1 1/2 - 2 lb mark. Again falling thick and fast on the Zeniths. Again I switched to the LRF setup but didnt get any interest on the soft plastics, so back to the Zens. Nat decided to get in on the Zen action and was soon into the fish as well (i need to make a 5g Zenith.....). We mush have had about 30 Good Coley between us and a couple of Pollock chucked in for good measure. Nat mannaged the best fish of the night with a cracking Pollock about 6 1/2lb

The fish didnt seem to be interested in anything apart from Zeniths, there was lots of birds diving about 1/2 a mile out and i would put good money that there was sandeal and mackerel out there.

We headed off about 23:00 after a nice little session and bagging another species.

    Carl with a Coley

Me with A Coley, Mid sentence by the look of it.
