Headed out with Carl last night for a spot of LRFing, we got to Roker Pier only to find it was closed for maintenance works. So we headed down to the marina after a few chucks I decided we needed a better Plan B so we headed for the rock edges around south shields. Carl managed the first fish with a little L/S Sea Scorpion, swiftly followed by a Common Blenny for myself. I was fishing with a 3g lead head with half a small Red Isome on, i'm sure Carl was using a similar setup. After quite a bit of interest from the Blennys i eventually managed to winkle out a L/S Sea Scorpion myself and Carl managed another Blenny. We changed mark again sticking at the LRF after a few chucks, as i was lifting my Isome out the water a little coley hit it, it couldn't have been more than 6" below the water, just goes to show you should fish the lure to the surface. Called it a day not long after that, new rod christened with 3 different species.
