    I've never bust a gateride bib and yes I've thrown them in very rough ground. Take my advice and don't mess with them. Yes you might bust them first chuck but only if you fire it at a rock, it won't just break fished as it should be.

      I wouldn't do this mate. Instead if it flips over just use a hook point to pop out the little metal pin and then reset the bib. As others have said, if you file it, they can tend to start flipping over all the time.
