  • Itching to get out........

I'm sick of this bloody snow, wind, rain and manky water! Think I'm developing cabin fever! Can't wait to get out in some half decent weather and catch-up to Bassboyo ;-)

Might have to hit the rock-pools if things don't improve soon, either that or someone show me where I can catch some Salmon......
    Regards
    Si

Am sick of the weather as well wreckingball76 , I wish it would clear up so I might get some competition ;-)

I've been out a few times hiding in a few spots but the wind has still been a problem, lots of fish just nothing new to add to the tally. I always find February very hard going for some reason, I might be hitting rock pools too.

Tried on Tuesday and it was really tough going, one noticeable bite which ended up in a fish lost to the kelp, other than that Zippo. Water was like coffee, wind was howling, sea was choppy and it was raining....all in all pretty miserable. A bit settled weather for a few days would be great.

Had a little walk along the Leas today, had toyed with the idea of taking a rod but pleased I didn't bother. The wind was ridiculous and the water still looked quite coloured, though it was a bit difficult to tell how badly coloured the way the surface was getting chopped up by the wind.
I'm surprised I haven't bumped into you down there.

I am hoping to try an hour or two tonight if I get finished early enough.

The best thing about the Lrf is I can pop out for less time than it takes to pack and set up my beach casting gear.

The wind is dying off now and the rain will stop about 2am with wind 11mph NW so looking good. I'm going out 5am to fish two up and two down over first light. I will be mainly bait fishing but I'll take my spinning rod along and if conditions look ok I'll be doing a bit of HRF with some articulated jig heads I just bought which I'm dying to try out. They look a great idea you can clip on any hook you like so can fish weedless hooks or any other type or size you fancy on the same jig head. I'm going to try small aberdeens which will bed out of the snags and some isomes. I'll post a catch report if I get them out

That's what I like too, I've literally went out with my rod reel and Ecogear pocket in set and a small multi-tool in me pocket.

You should get fish up there, its not far from where we had the meet, you'll need some pyramid or flat weights to hold the bottom if the tides pulling.
