You will have more abrasion resistance using a flouro leader, only 2-3 ft of 15-20 lb and don't wind the knots I've suggested above through the rings.

The Yuc knot looks pee easy to tie although the loop in the braid suggests a Bimini or something needs to be tied aswell. Is that the case?
I use a Slim Beauty knot which has never as yet failed me although it can be a bit of a pain to tie.

No need for a Bimini at all. Just make sure that you have a min of 10 turns with your braid loop, flouro tag back through braid loop , wet well and pull up. The flouro will actually coil around the braid very quick and easy knot especially when it's dark and windy.

Big Phil if you use a fast link to attach your leader to braid this will kill the action of your lures, go direct with a knot. If you mean this in a different way please explain as I may of misinterpreted you.
You can buy various small clips that you can use to attach your lures that will do away with a knot, if you want to use a knot to attach lures have a look at the rapala knot .

its just a clip so you dont need to keep cutting your line to tie a new lure on or is that the best way?

If your using a 2-3ft flouro rubbing leader you can use a small fast link / lure clip to attach your lures etc, again this is down to personal preference, otherwise Palomar knots are quite popular for attaching lures especially with braid. You can use improved clinch knots and loop knots to mono or Flouro leader, but these can slip when used directly to braid.

If you wish to use a light rig etc, then dispense with the leader and use a snap link straight to the mainline. You don't want any knot needing to pass through the guides of your rod when casting, otherwise you'll end up with a horrendous mess of a braid knot wrapped around one of your guides!

just tie it on and thats all you need to do, then when you want to change a lure just open it up and put a new lure on

I keep seeing braid mentioned is it necessary to use braid or would a light mono be ok and what breaking strain 8lb or 10lb and if using a mono would you put leader on

In what application HRF / LRF ?? Mono does have its place in certain situations. I always use braid on my HRF , braid has little or zero stretch , you will have better feel and more lure control (especially top waters) with braid. When I use mono straight through no need for a leader
