My next targets are Launce, Bass, Wrasse, Flounder and Pike I've had all these in recent years and know how and where to get them, just need to put the hours in.
Whilst catching doggies and Huss last week I did think about trying to catch one on a shad but as my fishing time has been so limited I didn't risk wasting any on an experiment. I think it could be done, they are predatory fish after all.

Maybe one day I'll try.
This is my 2nd season of trying to catch a wrasse on the lure. I did get a corkwing off whitley a month ago on my yak but had no camera. I've read that people catch them with the 10g fiiish black minnow shads but it's not worked for me, yet. Hopefully tomorrow that will change.
Anyone noticed that there aren't as many flounder about as there was a couple of months ago? Usually I can go straight out and get one on a lure but they seem to have buggered off somewhere as even on bait there aren't as many as usual.
Black minnows are highly rated for wrasse by a few people, not had one on mine yet though Can only keep trying, but maybe because they aren't present in as great numbers as dahn sahf they don't have as much competition so maybe aren't as eager to hit lures.

I've never managed a wrasse of a SP , I've had them on Zens and daylights but nothing else, they seems to plenty being caught on SS Pier on the float
I got soaked to the skin yesterday in the Irish Sea and it was made worse by the fact the Tope weren't around and hadn't been seen for a week or so. Even the Huss had disappeared. The LSD's were hammering baits and being a nuisance.
With a heavy heart I decided that although I find Cod boring they are better than nothing so I put on a shad and started to pick them up but they were just little things. After a while I reeled in what I thought was a codling when I first saw colour down in the water and actually gave it slack line in the hope it would unhook itself as they sometimes do but then my mate shouted gurnard which made me panic as now I wanted to land it lol.
Not a monster but a nice sized Tub Gurnard, it didn't save the day but it stopped it from being a complete disaster.
I expected a good day on the carp today but they weren't feeding, at least the bigger ones weren't. I did catch a koi carp on artificial corn which if nothing else was a good looking fish lol.
