  • budget rod for lrf

m looking for summit real cheap that can help me catch tiddlers etc and saw a rod reel combo from renowned swedish tackle folk .FLADEN for 12 squid casting 5-20 g its only 6 ft or so . and i thought this shud be ok til i can afford somethi ng much better. optiio b is to go for a heavier spinning rod but the ones i seem interested in are casting 10-40g ...i really cant see the fuss of spending 30-80 quid on a rod to target blennies. what dya think ?

5-20g doesn't seem like much when your dropping from 45 gram spinners but it is still a little heavy for the LRF fishing I get up to.... I'm the guy sitting at the edge of a rock pool for an hour at a time.

I mainly use split shot or jig heads for the max of 4g's. I think its all down to what LRF you intend to do.

P.S. My rod was a jap import that I bought for £23 but then jumped to £120 on the next auction..... I think I got very very lucky.

Its rated at 1-8 lb line and 1-8g lure... its incredibly responsive as well.
Species: Cod, Bass, Coalie, Flounder, Dab, Rockling, Mackerel, Plaice, Pollock, Ballen Wrasse, L/S Scorpion, Common Blenny, Weaver (unfortunately), Whiting, Common Eel, Trout, Pike... think that's it

Carl, has Clas Olsen not got any small Abu kits in? Think they were about £20-30 for rod and reel or are they all a bit on the heavy side?

We've got some spinning kits in but there back up to £40 for the one your on about, in all honestly I think I'd stay away from our rods right now because they're over priced. I still buy the lures and they have a tackle tarts sexy pack in that I want
