me and mate tried lockwood beck yesterday 14hrs fishing between us neither of us got a touch fingers were sore with changing flies and lines.

John - I\'ve heard that any fishery that does not have an independent stock of trout on site (i.e they rear their own) the fishery is not getting stocked due to a desease located in a frozen fish down Yorkshire,
Places like Winton Castle are running a catch and release only ticket and Bellflask and Kiplin hall are offering £10 1 fish ticket during this issue,
So maybe there lies your problem???

Ive fished Lockwood beck many times when its red hot, in fact i prefer it as the fish are usually tightly packed in the deepest water. Ive found all the fish are normally 20 -30ft down off the tower in the deep water. You need a DI7 or DI8 line and boobies or lures and if the anchor rope is long enough to get the anchor down. It sometimes fishes well in the evening fishing dries on the opposite bank running alongside the weedbeds where the dropoffs are.
