  • Witton Castle (Report Sat 11th March)

    Fished Witton Castle on Saturday
Bloody Freezing day that did nothing for my raging hangover ... anyway, managed 4, lost about the same number with alot of half hearted plucks and plulls.

Overnight frost and blizzard made the fishing hard,

Started off with the traditional Black fritz and pulling techniques, managed no fish to this method, switched to the Blood Worm and indicator, nothing to that aswell, noticed that everyone was chucking massive lures so I went back on the intermediate line with size 12-14 mini lures, hit fish straight away but struggled to keep them all on, managed a couple. Things slowed up as the day grow on (and got colder) so I chucked the indicator out again with a blob on, managed a load of takes with 2 fish to show for it....

2 fish off the South lake (deep hole next to white post)
2 fish from the West Lake (deep corner opposite the lodge)
Nothing at the tree\'s on the East Last...suprised!!!
Lost a couple next to the Wendy house (East lake - next to sunken island)

    Compainions for the day
    Brian Corkhill managed 10 fish
    Tommy Reay managed 3 fish

    All fish around 2 1/2lb

Great day, looking forward to the olives starting to come off,

    Cheers

      He\'s a lucky tw@t!
First 4 casts resulted in 4 fish!

He thought he was going to have a bananza, then it started snowing and snowing and..........

He did well to get what he did, he was using the same tactics as mentioned above, however he managed a couple more on the bloodworm and larger lures.

Sless, we\'ll sort a day out over the spring with Corkie,

      Cheers
