  • Fly fishing Help

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have this old fly fishing reel i have found in my garage. I want to put it on ebay but im unsure about the price.

Its a Shakespeare Speedex Fly reel. I had it on ebay but ive taken it off as i dont know enough about it and i don't want to rip anyone off. I had a guy asking me a question if it was the wide one, the reel is 35mm obiously not including the handle and also how many teeth the cog has inside, which it has 22. he said it makes a big difference which led me to believe i may have put the price too high.

If anyone has any information on it, it would be much appreciated. Or if they could point me in the direction of anyone who may know.

I can take more photos if anyone needs anything more specific.

if the sticker about the wf 8 line on is correct thats a small reel more suited to a 3/4 wf as there is no backing line on have you looked for a serial number try googling it . or just put it back on ebay and if it is worth anything the bids will soon let you know ie less bids not worth much more bids means worth the money. you could just list it as advertised else where and remove if it dont fetch what you want

not worth much nice little brook reel,
would look nice on small 6ft6 cane rod or similar,as said before the line doesnt belong on that reel and will most probably be no good now looks to have been wound on really tight.

        tight lines
