Ladds im after some info plz.were on durham free stretch can you fish for
free.was thinking about using my soft plastics on it but i aint that sure what species
of fish are in durham.any info would be great ladds
It's absolutely stuffed with minnows so predators won't be far away, I've had chub and dace too and heard of it being good for barbel.
I Haven't had success there with lures but have seen salmon. Probably pike present too so use a wire trace.
Very few Pike or Perch in the free stretch.I havn,t seen any caught for some years now.
You could target the Chub with soft plastics when the water warms.
Rubber Shrimps work.
I have had some big Chub on surface lures over the years.
Had some great sport with these, casting under the trees on the far bank at Ferrens park.
