  • Fly identification

Morning all, i've just been given an absolutely boat load of fly's by a relative who in turn was given them.

Can anyone advise on an up to date book for fly identification cos i'm at a loss with a lot of them.

    Some are obvious, some aren't.

    Cheers.

try figure out if they are dry's,lures, wets, nymphs, buzzers first mate, then try a search on the internet for a selection of say, nymphs and you will probably spot one of your's. sorry someone else might be able to advise on a book. have a look on amazon mate.

Aye, cheers, there are about 60 + flies altogether and some look very similar so i've put them into groups and will start searching.

Going to one of the Northumbria waters shortly and will take them with me hopefully someone can help there as well
