had a couple of carp just where ferens park used to be... nowt that big but they came to just under 5lb on the scales... that was july 2009... also got snapped a couple of times but just put it down to barbel... they came to hair rigged halibut pellet while after barbel and chub... also managed to get a couple of pike that wouldnt let go of chub that were being brought to the net...
its a very underrated river... it has big shoals of bream and dace as well if you know where to fish... as well as a very good run of decent seatrout....
cheers

The river is now a shadow of its former self because of the black feckers....

in the deep water up stream from the rowing club... just on the bend in the big hole where the old bridge used to be...... but you had to fish very deep either a sliding float or with lesser success a feeder set up right next to the old wooden posts on the bend...
its time that defra allowed a cull on the fu##ing flying plague in my opinion...keep it swinging

I had 17 for 13-1/2lb on the Stick float one winters morning.
The EA stocked the river a few months back with small Barbel, just the right eating size for the Cormorants.
Just shows theres not a brain among them.
